A 19th century Thai hand-carved wooden temple dragon sculpture mounted on a custom base. Born in Thailand during the 19th century, this abstracted wooden dragon sculpture adopts a curved shape which evokes both wings and flames. The front features subtle incised lines that enhance the curvilinear shape of the piece. This natural wood piece is mounted on a black base and the tenons on the bottom suggest it was part of a bigger structure in a temple, possibly as an endcap of an architectural panel.
