This tall late-20th-century ceramic bottle vase pairs a restrained gray glaze with an elongated silhouette and incised spiral decoration.
The surface is finished in a soft gray glaze with subtle tonal variations that become especially apparent across the rounded body. Numerous fine incised lines wrap irregularly around the vase, creating a layered spiral effect and introducing both movement and texture. The lines become denser across portions of the body, contrasting with the smoother upper neck and emphasizing the elongated form. The glossy glaze settles naturally into the recessed decoration, giving the pattern added depth without overwhelming the simple silhouette.
With its neutral gray palette and graphic surface treatment, the vase works particularly well in modern and contemporary interiors. Its substantial height makes it effective displayed alone on a console, pedestal or large tabletop, either as a decorative sculptural object or filled with tall branches.
