A petite Japanese Edo period Folk Art altar table from the 19th century, with carved and polychrome motifs. Born in Japan during the Edo period, this charming petite altar table presents a rectangular top, adorned with a three-quarter carved wood gallery. The table is raised on a succession of carved supports connected to a low stretcher and visually separating polychrome geometrical motifs from one another.

 

Raised on four finial in each corner, this small Japanese Edo period altar table charms us with its weathered appearance witnessing of its age and delicate decor, making it a great decorative choice for any home.
