A Japanese Meiji period six-panel folding screen, late 19th century, showcasing an exquisitely painted yamato-e style composition. Featuring noble figures in an idyllic landscape, this byōbu (folding screen) highlights classic Japanese artistic techniques and refined craftsmanship. The scene unfolds with aristocratic figures adorned in flowing robes, surrounded by cascading waterfalls, sakura blossoms, and undulating rivers. These elements are set against a luminous background, which adds depth and dimension to the composition while reflecting light beautifully. The finely detailed architecture and delicate fans evoke an atmosphere of elegance, likely inspired by scenes from classical Japanese literature or aristocratic life.
