A small Laotian style bronze rain drum side table from the mid-20th century, with geometric relief motifs and central sun. created during the midcentury period, this bronze drum table (named for the lovely sound that such tables make when hit by raindrops) displays a great precision in its patterns, made of scrolling friezes, diamonds and other geometrical motifs.
The table top is adorned with concentric friezes surrounding a central sun, reminiscent of the Vietnamese Dong Son drums created in the bronze age, while the sides are accented with petite finials. With its verdigris patina and small proportions, this Laotian style rain drum side table will make for an excellent decorative accent in most homes.
