This vintage stone Quán Yīn head sculpture, hand-carved in mid-20th-century China, captures the Bodhisattva of Compassion in serene repose. Rising 18″ high atop a gently flared neckline, the work is rendered from a single block of pale gray schist, its surface streaked with natural veining and soft moss-green lichen that accentuates the figure’s tranquil expression. The finely incised hair coils into an elegant topknot, while the stylized lotus tiara and delicately defined eyebrows, eyes, and lips reflect skilled traditional carving techniques.
