This vintage four-panel screen features a striking crimson red ground embellished with intricate hand-painted scrollwork in a classical floral motif. Each panel is framed by vertical cream-toned borders adorned with delicate vines and stylized flowers in shades of blue, yellow, red, and green, enhancing the rhythm and elegance of the symmetrical layout. The overall effect is rich and ornamental, drawing on elements of neoclassical or imperial decorative traditions.
The composition is defined by verticality and repetition, giving it architectural presence when used as a room divider, backdrop, or freestanding accent. The palette, dominated by red, gold, and turquoise, adds depth and vibrancy while the fine brushwork brings out the details in each flower and foliate flourish. The rear side of the screen is finished in solid dark tones, as shown in the final image with one reversed panel.
