Description

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period elm wood armchair from the 19th century, with open back, carved splat, serpentine arms, wooden seat and carved apron. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this elm wood armchair features a rectangular open back, adorned with an in-curving splat adorned with a scrolling foliage-themed carved medallion. The two arms present a serpentine shape and rest on thin sinuous supports.


The chair showcases a wooden seat with recessed panel in the center and is raised on four straight legs with carved apron in the front and a low stretcher perfect to support the feet. The sides each feature a simple apron and a stretcher. Boasting a warm patina, this Qing Dynasty period Chinese armchair from the 19th century will make for a great accent piece in any home, particularly placed in a foyer, a living room or a bedroom.
