A Chinese Qing Dynasty period compound cabinet from the 19th century, with doors, drawers and removable panel. Created in China during the 19th century, this compound cabinet features a smaller storage chest stacked on top of a regular sized cabinet. Compound cabinets were used for storage. The top would contain out of season clothing while the main cabinet would be used as a wardrobe for everyday use including bedding and clothes for the season.
Fitted with traditional hardware, the lower doors open to reveal inner shelves and two drawers, as well as a removable panel concealing a hidden compartment. Raised on four straight legs with carved apron in the front, this 19th century Qing Dynasty compound cabinet will be a great choice to decorate any bedroom or living room. The lower section is 69" H.
