Chinese Late Qing Dynasty Side Cabinet with Hand Painted Flower and Bird Décor

A Chinese late Qing Dynasty period side cabinet from the early 20th century, with hand painted flower and bird décor, two doors, ornate brass hardware, carved apron and custom lacquer. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty period in the early years of the 20th century, this side cabinet features a rectangular top with beveled edges, sitting above two doors. Each door is adorned with a colorful hand painted décor showcasing a couple of birds perched into large flowers, standing out beautifully on a black ground.
These doors open thanks to an ornate brass lock to reveal a black a red lacquered interior with inner shelves offering convenient storage opportunities. The cabinet is raised on four short slightly splaying feet, connected to one another through an apron carved on three sides. The sides are made of recessed panels and the back is, of course, distressed. The cabinet has been newly and professionally refinished. With its elegant lines and complimenting colors, this Chinese late Qing Dynasty period side cabinet from the early 20th century will make for a lovely addition to any home, placed in a living room or hallway.
