Description

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period compound elm cabinet from the 19th century, with reddish brown lacquer and traditional brass hardware. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty, this compound two-piece cabinet features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a warm patina. Made of a tall lower cabinet topped with a shorter one, the piece showcases a light reddish brown lacquer finish enhancing its elmwood grain beautifully.

The doors (two small ones over two larger ones) open thanks to brass medallions featuring pear shaped handles, an auspicious Chinese motif which symbolizes good fortune and prosperity. The bottom doors open to reveal three inner shelves with two hidden drawers. With its clean lines and tall proportions, this Chinese elm Qing Dynasty cabinet will make for an exotic yet functional storage unit in most rooms, with ample storage below for books, papers, clothes or china.
