A tall and finely potted Chinese porcelain altar vase, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue on a pale celadon ground. Standing 17 inches high with an 8.5-inch body diameter and a wide 7-inch mouth opening, the vase displays a balanced, slightly waisted silhouette with a pronounced flared rim. The exterior is adorned with a figural scene likely depicting Daoist immortals or sages in a garden setting, rendered in expressive brushwork with tonal variations in blue.
Clusters of stylized clouds hover across the body, reinforcing the celestial theme, while molded and applied lion-mask or ruyi-form handles climb the neck, subtly punctuated in darker cobalt. The glaze itself carries a delicate greenish-blue celadon wash, with visible craquelure beneath the surface—adding a sense of depth and age.
The base is neatly finished with a recessed footring revealing the vitrified porcelain body, lightly stained from kiln firing.
