This large artisan ceramic vase is defined by its striking honeycomb-textured surface and richly layered amber-brown glaze, a combination that gives the piece both visual depth and a strong tactile presence. The surface is worked in a repeating cellular pattern, creating a rhythmic play of light and shadow that shifts depending on viewing angle and illumination. The glaze pools subtly within the recesses of the texture, producing tonal variations ranging from deep caramel to lighter, golden highlights—an effect that speaks to skilled hand-finishing rather than industrial production.
The form is well balanced and gently tapered, with a broad, stable body that narrows toward the base and opens slightly at the neck. The mouth opening measures approximately 6.5 inches in diameter, making it suitable for substantial floral arrangements, sculptural branches, or use as a standalone decorative object. When empty, it reads as a sculptural vessel; when filled, it anchors an arrangement without competing with it.
The underside shows a fully glazed base with expected kiln marks, consistent with artisan studio pottery.
