This large artisan ceramic planter is defined by its tall, tapering form and complex, vertically articulated glaze treatment. The body rises from a narrow foot to a gently flared rim, giving the vessel a strong architectural presence well suited to large-scale interiors or covered outdoor settings.
The upper section is finished in a muted green-grey glaze with a finely textured surface, showing subtle vertical striations that suggest the use of layered slips or controlled glazing during the throwing process. Below, a darker brown glaze transitions sharply at mid-body, accented by elongated ochre and amber-toned drips that descend irregularly toward the base. These drip effects are deliberate and kiln-formed, creating visual rhythm and depth rather than decorative patterning.
The interior is fully glazed and displays a pronounced tactile texture, with visible throwing lines and glaze movement that emphasize the handmade nature of the piece. The base is left unglazed, revealing the clay body and kiln firing marks typical of studio or workshop production.
This planter reads as sculptural even when empty and is particularly effective with tall plants or branches. Its restrained palette and bold scale allow it to integrate easily into modern, wabi-sabi, or eclectic interiors, while remaining visually grounded and materially honest.
