This artisan-crafted ceramic vase features a well-balanced, tapering form with a subtly stepped profile, widening gently at the shoulder before narrowing toward the base. The surface is finished in a rich blue glaze with fine horizontal ribbing throughout the body, contrasted by vertical fluting at the neck. This interplay of textures gives the piece a strong sense of rhythm and structure, while the glossy glaze enhances depth and tonal variation across the surface.
The glaze ranges from soft slate blue to deeper steel tones, pooling slightly within the grooves and catching the light with a restrained sheen. The interior is fully glazed, and the mouth opening measures approximately 6.25 inches in diameter, allowing for generous floral arrangements or use as a decorative planter or standalone sculptural object.
The base shows clear evidence of wheel-thrown production, with visible turning marks and an unglazed foot rim, consistent with studio pottery. Subtle variations in glaze application and minor surface irregularities are inherent to the artisan process and contribute to the character of the piece.
