This antique Chinese porcelain vase is hand-painted in cobalt blue on a softly luminous ground with a distinct pale green, celadon-toned undertone rather than a stark white body. The form is tall and well-balanced, with a gently flared mouth (measuring 7.75" diameter), rounded shoulder, and tapering lower body, giving the piece an elegant vertical presence.
The decoration is executed in freehand underglaze blue and depicts a lively figural scene, likely scholars or attendants in an outdoor setting, surrounded by stylized foliage and landscape elements. The brushwork varies intentionally in tone and density, with softer washes and darker accents that give the scene movement and depth.
