A Japanese porcelain plate from the 19th century, with hand-painted blue and white tree, foliage and rock décor. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor depicting an artistic, balanced landscape arrangement: occupying the right side of the composition, a tree is spreading its blooming branch towards the left, thus creating a sinuous line that leads our eyes throughout the décor. The lower section presents a luscious bush with large leaves and flower adorning a rocky formation.
A charming flower born in the ground completes the ensemble. Bordered by a scalloped edge alternating light blue floral motifs and foliage on dark blue ground with airy cartouches, this Japanese hand-painted porcelain plate from the 19th century will make for a lovely addition to any home décor, perhaps placed on a commode, side table or console! The stand used to photograph the plate is not included.
