Description

A Japanese Imari porcelain plate from the 19th century, with hand-painted blue and white floral, foliage and butterfly décor. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this Imari porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor depicting an artistic, balanced landscape arrangement: occupying the left side of the composition, delicate flowers and foliage are resting on auspicious scrolls. The right side is adorned with two petite butterflies that each seem to be flying towards a branch to rest on it.

The back is decorated with simple clouds on the outside. Bordered by a scalloped edge alternating light blue floral motifs on a darker blue ground, this Japanese hand-painted Imari porcelain plate from the 19th century will make for a lovely addition to any home décor, perhaps placed on a commode, side table or console! The stand used to photograph the plate is not included.
