This hand-thrown ceramic vase features a warm, sand-colored glaze with subtle tonal variation and a soft, low-luster finish. Its shape is clean and well-balanced, with a broad shoulder that curves inward to a gently tapering base. A short cylindrical neck rises to a rounded lip (measuring 4.5" diameter), giving the form a grounded yet quietly sculptural presence. The surface shows fine horizontal throwing lines and incised bands encircling the upper body, adding rhythm and understated detail.
A few irregularities in the glaze—along with light wear, firing marks, and natural surface imperfections—enhance its artisanal character. The body reveals areas of glaze thinning and small losses, particularly near the base, consistent with use and handling over time. The base shows the pale earthenware beneath with signs of ring wear from years of contact.
This versatile form can serve as a standalone sculptural element or as a vessel for dried florals or branches. Its neutral tone and honest materiality make it well-suited to interiors embracing natural textures, minimal palettes, or wabi-sabi aesthetics.
