A vintage Chinese low kang table from the mid-20th century, with pierced sides and horse hoof feet. Created in China during the midcentury period, this low kang table features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above four straight legs with horse hoof extremities.
The term kang comes from a platform destined to receive people atop, typically found in Northern China and made of hollow brick, allowing to burn fuel underneath to provide some heat. Furniture around had therefore to be low. Showcasing pierced sides, this vintage Chinese low kang table will make for a lovely accentuation to any home!
