A small Shanxi style elmwood bedside cabinet with two doors, single drawer and patinated brass hardware from the turn of the century. This bedside cabinet was hand made with elmwood and brass in the Shanxi style, common in parts of Northern China at the turn of the century. The linear shape of this cabinet is typical of the modern Chinese style. The cabinet is entirely varnished with a bright lacquer which highlights the wood grain beautifully. The double doors open to reveal a dark brown interior, which contrasts with the lighter hue of the body. The doors and the single drawer are adorned with a delicate patinated brass hardware.
Thanks to its small dimensions, this restored Shanxi style elmwood cabinet circa 1900 would be perfect as a bedside table, and would offer convenient storage possibilities.
