Set of four antique Japanese Kutani hand-painted porcelain plates. Maker's mark on underside (markings can be in almost any color, with red dominating Kutani). Kutani means Nine Valleys and is the name of an area and a village in Japan.
Beginning with the Meiji period (1868-1912) up until today almost all Kutani porcelain was made for the export market. Please note: for decorative use only. Minor age wear.
