Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, each of this pair of bedside cabinets features a red lacquered façade perfectly accented by a delicate golden hand painted décor depicting elegant butterflies flying around delicate flowers. Two doors, each fitted with a brass scalloped lock with ring pulls and horizontal key, open to reveal inner shelves.
The lower section presents two drawers with brass teardrop pulls. The sides are made of black lacquered recessed panels and the back is brown. The ensemble is raised on four straight legs with painted geometric meander motifs and a carved apron in the front.
