Chinese Red Lacquer Late Qing Dynasty Bedside Cabinet with Carved Décor

A Chinese late Qing Dynasty period bedside cabinet from the early 20th century, with red lacquer, two doors, hidden drawers, carved décor and brass hardware. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty period in the early years of the 20th century, this bedside cabinet features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above two doors. These doors are carved with cartouches in their upper sections, showcasing scrolling fruits and foliage, and incised panels in their lower sections. They open thanks to a brass lock accented with etched motifs, to reveal inner shelves and hidden drawers offering convenient storage opportunities.

The sides and back present recessed panels while the ensemble is raised on straight feet. With its clean lines and red lacquered finish, this Chinese late Qing Dynasty period cabinet from the early 20th century will make for a wonderful addition to any living room or bedroom.
