Vintage Chinese 1960s Bar Cabinet with Three Shelves and Two Drawers
A vintage Chinese varnished wood bar cabinet from the mid 20th century with shelves and drawers. Created in China during the Midcentury period, this minimalist varnished bar cabinet features two open shelves in its upper section each showcasing a pierced three-quarter gallery conceived to protect from bottles tumbling off the shelf. The center is made of two drawers, adorned with slightly raised panels and fitted with brass handles on shaped backplates.
The lower part presents two additional shelves, closed by a panel in the back and offering ample opportunity for storage of various bar accessories such as glasses, ice buckets or extra straws. The sides and the back are made of recessed panels. With its clean lines, tall proportions and warm patina, this Chinese varnished wood bar cabinet circa 1960 will be a great addition to any room and could certainly serve as a bar but could easily function as a bookshelf as well.
