A pair of Chinese side cabinets with doors and drawers from the early 20th century. This pair of Chinese small side cabinets was made in the early 1900s with red lacquered wood. Each cabinet adopts a refined shape enhanced by a light recess trim. Both cabinets are varnished with a bright red lacquer, which was used widely in the China of centuries past. The top corners are smooth, the trim on the doors is faux bamboo and the pieces stand on four legs (each) that almost have an Art Deco style to them.
The doors, which open thanks to a traditional Chinese lock hardware, hide two drawers and two shelves within each cabinet. This early 20th century, Chinese pair of small side cabinets with red patina would be an elegant and functional addition to most homes, perhaps flanking a large window or on opposite sides living room, facing one another.
