This 19th century sheesham wood cabinet with iron hardware was made in Gujarat, India. This tall cabinet is made with a typical Indian wood called sheesham wood, which is stronger than teak. The cabinet features two nicely carved doors with wavy patterns on their tops. Each door is strengthened with iron hardware and features a ring pull fastened to a flower iron back plate. The doors can be closed thanks to an ingenious system of wood latches on the top and on the bottom of the cabinet.
The doors open up to reveal four inner shelves offering optimal storage. This unusual 19th century sheesham wood cabinet from Gujarat would be an impressive storage unit, especially in a bedroom used as an armoire, or a living room.
