A set of four late 19th century well carved Chinese elmwood interior door panels with open fretwork design. This set of Chinese open fretwork elmwood panels circa 1880 features an exquisite carving work in their upper section. The top panel is carved with finesse in order to create typical Chinese square patterns that let the light pass through. This panel is surrounded with delicate carved scenes, depicting Chinese characters set inside a lovely landscape.
The panels are varnished in an elegant dark brown hue. This set of four 19th century panels could easily be hinged to make a fancy and impressive standing floor screen or could be hung to create a striking wall décor. The width mentioned is for the four pieces put together.
Each panel is approximately 21" W per panel x 89"H x 2"D.
