Description

A Chinese Yuan Dynasty carved stucco Buddha head from the 14th century, with custom stand to be provided. Created in China during the Great Yuan, this carved stucco head of a Buddha will be mounted on a custom stand that will be included at purchase. Boasting a nicely weathered patina revealing its great age, the head is topped with the traditional Ushnisha, made of snail shell curls.

 

Carved to represent the Buddha's wisdom, the head is adorned with the urna, the circular dot placed on his forehead, symbolizing his vision into the divine world. His eyes are semi-closed, revealing his meditative state. An excellent decorative addition to any home!
