Born in China during the last quarter of the 19th century, this Qing dynasty wooden chair features a lamp-hanger upper rail sitting above an open back with curving splat and carved spandrels. Two sinuous open arms with thin supports are resting on a wooden seat with central board, the ensemble being raised on four straight legs with arched apron and side stretchers.
