Created in Burma during the midcentury period, this waterfall coffee table features a rectangular bamboo opium mat top flowing seamlessly into the side supports accented with delicately scrolling extremities. The piece is called waterfall because of its distinctive rounded drops at the side edges resembling a flowing waterfall in a manner particularly popular during the 1930s-1940s. The eye therefore embraces the ensemble as a whole.
