A late 19th century Chinese armoire made with red lacquered wood and brass hardware. This tall rectangular armoire is covered with a bright red lacquer. Two doors sit above two large drawers and open to reveal two smaller hidden drawers. The doors open via a traditional Chinese lockset with carved pulls while the exterior drawers open thanks to brass bail handles and the interior drawers are adorned with brass ring pulls. This armoire features three shelves within the brown lacquered interior as well as a rod for hanging clothes. The armoire is raised on four straight feet, each supported by a bracketed skirt.
This linear 19th century red lacquered Chinese armoire with brass accents would be an exotic storage item in most homes, perhaps in a living room where it would add a rich colorful touch and offer tremendous storage opportunities.
