Description

A large hand-carved temple sculpture from the 19th century depicting a Thai warrior holding a sword and a trident, with great distressed appearance. Created in Thailand, this four-foot tall wooden sculpture depicts a Thai warrior ready for battle. Topped with a typical pointed headdress showing, like the rest of the sculpture, great age, the warrior is firmly planted on his two feet. Squatting down a little, he is holding a sword in his right hand and a trident in his left. Wearing an ornate pantalon, the warrior presents a calm yet alert expression.

His eyebrows high, he is focused ahead. The back has a hole, likely due to the piece that was connecting him to the décor. The sculpture doesn't stand on its own and needs to lean against a support of sort. Showing great age with a good amount of wood loss, this hand-carved 19th century sculpture of a Thai warrior will make for a great decorative addition to any home where it will be a wonderful conversation starter.
